Book of the Week

We’re re-reading this today to get us in the mood for the Belfast Mela x

Barefoot in Belfast

Summer’s here and I have two busy girls to entertain for eight weeks! So we’re choosing a book every week and coming up with mini-projects we can do to keep us entertained. Who knows, we might learn a little too! This week we’re reading The Elephant Dance, a book about Ravi and his Grandfather who is visiting from India. As you’s expect from a Barefoot Book, it’s beautifully illustrated, but what really strikes me about this book is the richness of the language. It’s full of great imagery and metaphors that really make the illustrations jump out at you. I’ll be coming back to that later in the week with Abigail to see how far her imagination can run. Today we’re having a meat-free Indian inspired Monday and doing some elephant and peacock crafts. Watch this space!
